JESUP - Clarence Phillip “Junior” Youngblut, 79, of Jesup, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born March 13, 1935, in Waterloo, son of Clarence P. Youngblut and Clara Welter Youngblut. He married Janice Marie Hemmer on Oct. 25, 1958, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Raymond.

Junior was a farmer from a very early age, and he and his wife later moved to the family farm west of Jesup. He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup.

Survived by his wife; three daughters, Lori (Rustie) Kane of Fairbank, Sandy Youngblut (Brent Blythe) of Waterloo and Kathy “Hutch” Youngblut of Jesup; two sons, Mark “Sparky” and Nick (Amy), both of Jesup; seven grandchildren, Amber (Justin) Decker, Jared (Rochelle) Kane, Troy Kane, Landon Kane, Nikayla Youngblut, Makena Youngblut and Merrick Youngblut; five great-grandchildren, Braiden, Kanen, Espyn and Gentry Decker and Audra Kane; three brothers, Gerald (Charlene) of Jesup and Irvin (Edna) and William (Joan), both of Waterloo; and a sister-in-law, Rosie Youngblut of Jesup.

Preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kurt; and two brothers, Richard and Arnold “Barney.”

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 4 p.m. parish rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Junior also enjoyed hunting, fishing and socializing.
