WATERLOO - D. Quinn Martin, 80, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, in Waterloo.

He was born Dec. 31, 1933, in Davenport, son of Carl and Mary Alice Quinn Martin.

Quinn graduated from St. Ambrose Academy, St. Ambrose University and the University of Iowa Law School. In 1960 he moved to Waterloo to start his law practice, specializing in trial law. In 1964 he was elected county attorney for Black Hawk County, retiring in 1996.

Survived by: his wife, Jane; two daughters, Kris (Rod) Waschkat of Waterloo and Kate (Duane) Amundson of Vermillion, S.D.; a daughter-in-law, Julie Martin of Fishers, Ind.; four grandsons, Dan Amundson, Chris Amundson, Andrew Martin and Alex Q. Martin; and two stepgrandsons, Wade Waschkat and Drew Waschkat.

Preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tim; and a brother, Dennis.

Memorial visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service.

Memorials may be directed to the local Habitat for Humanity or the Waterloo Public Library.
