CEDAR FALLS - Wenona "Maxine" Ethington, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

She was born Dec. 29, 1920, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., daughter of Charles and Ruby Hemmet Caldwell. She married Edward "Dean" Ethington on June 26, 1943, in Nashua; he died Jan. 12, 2011.

Maxine graduated from high school in Lenox in 1938 and was a homemaker throughout her adult life.

Survived by a daughter, Sandra (Daniel) Murphy of Cedar Falls; a son, Martin (Teri) of Seattle; and a grandson, Ben Murphy of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Georgia and June; and a brother, Raymond Caldwell.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with private family inurnment in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Richardson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
