LA PORTE CITY - Georgia Irene Lindley, 87, of La Porte City, formerly of Osage, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at La Porte City Nursing Home.

She was born April 14, 1926, in Otranto, daughter of Archie and Gwendolyn Wilder Pike. She married Leon H. Lindley on Sept. 8, 1943, in Bethany, Mo.; he died in 2002.

Survived by three sons, Larry (Hettie) of Polk City, Terry (Carol) and Leon Jr. (Sandra), both of La Porte City; two daughters, Carolyn Lindley of Springfield, Mo., and Marilyn Lindley of Des Moines; six sisters, Barb Leraaen and Mary (Edward) Kittleson, both of St. Ansgar, Audrey Goodew of Smithfield, N.C., Frances Milne of Waterloo, Sandra (Roger) Keith of Algona and Eileen (James) Helfer of Sherrard, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dawn McCormack; and a son, Steven.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at American Lutheran Church, La Porte City, with burial at a later date in Rock Creek Cemetery, Rock Creek.
