WATERLOO-- Karen R. O’Connor, 69, of Waterloo, died Friday, April 11, 2014 at Country View.

She was born April 3, 1945, in Waterloo, daughter of Walter and Valeria Delagardelle Schmitz. She married Dennis “Lefty” O’Connor Jan. 6, 1968, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo.

Karen was employed with US West, now Century Link, for 33 years, retiring in 1999.

Survived by her husband; a son, Michael (Pam) of Waterloo; a daughter, Lori Fillipp of South Elgin, Ill.; three grandchildren, Brady O’Connor, Aaron Fillipp and Haley Fillipp; two sisters, LuAnn (Mike) Miller of Washburn and Connie (Jerry) Even of Gilbertville; and a brother-in-law, Gene Wester of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a sister, Pat Wester; and her parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
