James C. "Jim" Frost, 66, of Ionia, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, of congestive heart failure.

He was born July 4, 1940, in Waterloo, son of James Q. and Sylvia Smith Frost. He married Shirley Roberts on July 28, 1963, in Waterloo. She died in 1989. He then married Dora J. Wygle on Oct. 26, 1990, in Waterloo.

Mr. Frost was employed as a foreman at McGregor Furniture for 23 years, retiring in 1981. He also delivered the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier for 19 years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas R. of Ionia and Jamie C. (Sheri) of Waterloo; a daughter, Karla (Jeff) Platt of Waterloo; two stepdaughters, Sharon Lee of Waterloo and Rebecca Timmer of Jesup; five grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren; three brothers, Ronald (Sophie) of New Hartford, Gerald (Bev) of Waterloo and Jerald (Diane) of Valley Springs, Calif.; and a sister, Elizabeth (Kenny) Lester of Midway, W.Va.

Preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth; a sister, Melodie Bloomfield; and a grandson.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and an hour before services Wednesday at the chapel.
