WATERLOO - Glenn R. Arms, 79, of Walnut Court Apartments, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2005 at Allen Hospital.

He was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Breckenridge, Mo., son of Erwin B. and Della Guffey Arms. He married Opal Lufkin on July 22, 1950, at the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Waterloo.

Mr. Arms graduated from Gates Business College. He worked as a machinist at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was past Deacon at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dan (Joy) of Rochester, Minn., Donn (Sandy) of Greenville, S.C., and Mark (Lavonna) of Phoenix; a daughter, Becky (Dave) Jones of Lafayette, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Earl of Springfield, Mo., and John of Kansas City, Mo.

Preceded in death by a sister, Irma Watts; and five brothers, Gilbert, Alton, Claude, Edwin and Erwin Jr.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Triple-Cord Ministry.
