HUDSON - Leonard L. Unk Gibson, 81, of Hudson, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, at Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born March 1, 1924, in Lincoln Township, son of William Samuel and Grace Hoeg Gibson.

He graduated from Hudson High School in 1941. Mr. Gibson worked as a clerk at the Hudson Post Office for more than 31 years, retiring in 1979. He served in the U.S. Army in France during World War II.

Survived by a sister, Marguriete Ingamells of Hudson.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Murvel, Leo and Harold; a sister, Bertha Peterson; six half-brothers, Floyd Perl, Clarence, Harry James Gibson, Lyle Hoeg and two infant brothers; and four half-sisters, Mary Franck, Gertrude Kline Reiter, Hazel Furneaux and Geneive Stark.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Community Church of Hudson, with burial in the Hudson Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Hudson AMVETS Post 82, Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the Community Church of Hudson or the Hudson Library.
