The Rev. J. M. Eaves, Former Pastor, Dies

The Rev. James M. Eaves, 80, retired Baptist minister, died Sunday at athe Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. He had lived in Des Moines 39 years.

Mr. Eaves was formerly pastor of St. John's Baptist Church, 715 6th S. W., in Mason City. The pastor and members of the church built the building and paid off the mortgage during his stay in Mason City.

He also served as pastor at churches in Perry, Waterloo, Marshalltown and Pershing before moving to Des Moines, where he retired.

[Rev. Eaves was a Spanish-American War veteran, serving in Co. B, 24th Regiment Infantry. Interment at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.]
