WATERLOO - Donald G. Rikkels, 59, of Waterloo, died at home Monday, Aug. 22, 2005.

He was born April 18, 1946, in Waterloo, son of Pete and Agnes Schmidt Rikkels. He married Betsy Cochran on Feb. 20, 1970, in Waterloo, and they were later divorced.

Mr. Rikkels was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was formerly co-owner of Craft Cochran Sporting Goods and currently was employed with Hopkins Sporting Goods.

Survivors include a daughter, Amy (Tom) Chute of New Orleans; two sons, Ryan of Denver, Colo., and Ben (Amber) of Waterloo; a brother, Robert (Lorna) of St. Louis; and a sister, Gloria Spiegel of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Herman.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
