Paramedics with Waterloo Fire Rescue took Renee Marie Tripp, 55, of 1651 Byron Ave., to Covenant Medical Center where she died.

No citations were issued, and the accident is under investigation, said Capt. Bruce Arends with the Waterloo Police Department.

According to police, Tripp was walking west in the roadway in the 1800 block of Byron - an area that doesn't have sidewalks - at about 7 p.m. when she was struck by a westbound GMC Sierra pickup truck.
