WATERLOO - Ann V. Smith, 88, of Ridgeway Place, died at home Thursday, June 26, 2008.

She was born Aug. 7, 1919, in Winthrop, daughter of Lawrence and Nellie Gallery Callan. She married Leo J. Smith on Sept. 17, 1938, in Oelwein. He died Nov. 14, 1987.

Survived by two sons, David (Sherry) of Walled Lake, Mich., and Kim (Debra) of Perry; a daughter, Leann (Eddie) Randall of Mission, Texas; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Eleanor (Charles) Maust of Spokane, Wash., and Patricia Clark and Regina (Dean) Waldon, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a sister, Madeline Trotter.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Birthright.
