Mrs. Etta E. DeGon, 63, mother of Russell Dean, 932 Logan Avenue, died at 7:50 p.m. yesterday at the home of her son after a brief illness of complications.

Etta E. James was born June 13, 1864, in New York State and grew to womanhood there. She had been a resident of Waterloo for 27 years.

Surviving are her son and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Christ Episcopal Church, Rev. E. B. Mounsey, pastor, officiating. Brief prayer services will be conducted at the o'Keefe & Towne Chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Fairview.
