CEDAR FALLS - Catherine Elizabeth Adams, 69, of Cedar Falls, formerly of New Hartford, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

She was born Feb. 10, 1939, in Newport, R.I., daughter of Joseph Anthony and Catherine Elizabeth O'Connor Ionta.

She graduated from Allen Nursing School. She had been employed at Covenant Medical Center as an RN until her retirement.

Survived by a special friend, Clarence Kulish of Waterloo; three sons, Stephen (Stephanie) of Ormond Beach, Fla., Scott (Patti) of Phoenix and Michael (Lisa) of Parker, Colo.; three daughters, Pamela (Mike) Johnson of Marengo, Patricia (Larry) Frost of Des Moines, and Sharon Hansen of Cedar Rapids; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one brother, Joseph A. Ionta of Lincoln, R.I.; one sister, Carol Irvine of Waterloo.

Preceded by three brothers in infancy; and one grand daughter, Holly Kay Adams.

Family-conducted services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Deery Family Library of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, where there will be a 5 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway assisted the family.
