CEDAR FALLS - James H. Ravn, 61, formerly of Cedar Falls, died June 30, 2005, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center, Fort Smith, Ark., from complications following bypass surgery.

He was born Dec. 22, 1943, son of Harold P. and Marie Ilax Ravn.

A 1962 graduate of Cedar Falls High School, Mr. Ravn served in the U.S. Air Force and was employed locally at Hobart Sales & Services. He most recently worked as a pastry chef in several locations.

Survived by two sisters, Sharon M. (Harvey) Vreugdenhil of Fargo, N.D., and Kathrine A. (William) Jambura of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents, Nick and Clara Ilax, and Carl and Elnora Ravn.

Graveside services will be later in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls, with military rites conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. His body was cremated. Richardson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
