CEDAR FALLS - Marjorie "Margie" Strand Dix, 83, of Moreno Valley, Calif., formerly of Cedar Falls, died March 10, 2005 in Moreno Valley.

She was born July 9, 1921, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Elmer and Marie Strand. She married Sid Dix, and he preceded her in death.

She moved to Los Angeles in 1953 where she began her banking career. She started as a teller for Great Western Savings and Loan and later became one of the first women loan officers in the southern California area. She retired in 1988 from First Nationwide Bank

Survived by a daughter, Paule Ann (Donald) Lowrey of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Allene Landhuis of Seal Beach, Calif., and Velda Fodor of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Preceded in death by a brother, Howard Strand.

Memorial services: were March 14 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Moreno Valley, with burial in Crestlawn Mortuary, Riverside, Calif.
