WATERLOO - Randal E. "Randy" Broadway, 48, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at his home.

He was born Feb. 2, 1957, in Waterloo, son of Manford "Pete" and Arlene Matthias Broadway. He graduated from East High School with the class of 1975. He married Cheryl Boehme Sept. 10, 1994, in Waterloo, and they were later divorced.

Mr. Broadway had been employed at the Waterloo Courier and later was a mechanic at John Deere.

Randy enjoyed fishing and hunting and NHRA Drag Racing. He loved working on cars, and his dog Dempsey was his faithful friend. He was also a former amateur boxer. Randy loved his beloved daughter Morgan dearly, and she was the twinkle in his eye.

Survived by his mother of Waterloo; a daughter, Morgan of Waterloo; his former wife and friend, Cheryl Broadway of Waterloo; and three brothers, Russ of Sacramento, Calif., Greg (Ann) of Surprise, Ariz., and Brett of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He will be missed by all who knew him.
