CEDAR FALLS - Maxine C. Christensen, 87, of Cedar Falls, died at home Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006.

She was born Sept. 7, 1919, in Waverly, daughter of Chester A. and Inez Smith Boyd. She married James H, Christensen on Nov. 16, 1939, in Cedar Rapids. He died Dec. 3, 2003.

Mrs. Christensen graduated from Cedar Falls High School.

Survivors include a son, Jim "Chris" (Carol) of Waterloo; a daughter, Sandra K. (Dave) Carson of Des Moines; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; and a brother, Max Boyd of Hudson.

Preceded in death by two sons, Jon S. and Jan Clifford; and a sister, Marlys Virchow.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
