CEDAR FALLS - John "Jack" Schuster, 67, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Waterloo, son of Cleo and Marie Schmidt Schuster. He married Ursala Kaler in San Jose, Calif., in 1960; they later divorced. He married Sheila Dall on Aug. 27, 2006, in Waterloo.

Mr. Schuster graduated from Our Lady Of Victory in Waterloo and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Lexington aircraft carrier. He was employed with IBM in San Jose for 32 years, retiring in 1990.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael (Jill Rodinsky) and Daniel, both of San Jose; a daughter, Barbara Whitaker of Orange Grove, Texas; seven grandchildren; and a half sister, Sonja (Terry) Duckworth of Evansdale.

Preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Public visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 7 p.m. rosary, and also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials will be determined at a later date.
