PARKERSBURG - Teresa Jean Lessman, 54, of Parkersburg, died at home Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, from complications of Muscular Dystrophy.

She was born Dec. 16, 1953, in Waterloo, daughter of James and Shirley Schoonover Welter. She married Jim Lessman on Jan 7, 1978, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Lessman graduataed from Allen Nursing College in 1981. She was employed with several area hospitals, most recently with Waverly Health Center as an OB nurse until her retirement.

Survived by her husband; a son, Jacob of Parkersburg; a daughter, Sara Lessman of Cedar Falls; her parents of Waterloo; two brothers, Andrew Welter and Randall (Barb) Welter, all of Waterloo; and a sister, Cathy Welter of Waterloo.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
