CEDAR FALLS - Robert LaVerne Marshall, 70, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born Oct. 29, 1937, in Waterloo, son of Vern Cecil and JoAnn Damisch Marshall. He married O. Jeanne Cowger in Waterloo.

Mr. Marshall was employed as a parts manager with Lewis Motor Supply for 30 years, and later was warehouse manager with Cedar Valley Corp. for 10 years until his retirement.

Survived by his wife; five sons, Robert LaVerne (Terry) Marshall Jr. of Aurora, Colo., Bruce Alan Marshall of Warrenton, Mo., Joseph Emery (Joy) Marshall of Wentzville, Mo., Adam William (Melissa) Tufford of Elwood, Neb., and Timothy Dean (Jennifer) Tufford of Nevada; two daughters, Sandra Kay (Michael) Kelly of Wright City, Mo., and Kristin Jeanne (Marlin) Hurst of Mason City; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary Charles (Shari) of Waterloo; and a sister, Marilyn Joan Walther of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judith McCoy; and two brothers-in-law, Milton McCoy and Roger Walther.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Orchard Hill Reformed Church, Cedar Falls, preceded by burial at 9 a.m. in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a family and friends reflection at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to Orchard Hill Reformed Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.

Bob loved the Lord and had dedicated his life to his Father in Heaven. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who built solid oak furniture after his retirement. We rejoice that later we will be with him together for all eternity.
