WATERLOO - Gerald H. Mintey, 68, of Waterloo, died July 26, 2008, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 14, 1939, in Cresco, son of Howard and Lucille Medhaug Mintey.

He attended Cresco and Waterloo Schools. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a general roofer for multiple companies in the area.

Survived by four sons, Donald, Keith, David and Jesse, all of Waterloo; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Dixie Sutton, Betty Derifield and Janice Corson, all of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a son, Jess; and two brothers, Donald and Robert.

Memorial services: 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial at a later date in Cresco.
