GILBERTVILLE - Gloria A. Girsch, 81, of Gilbertville, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center, La Porte City, of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 11, 1926, daughter of Vincent and Amelia "Molly" Klein Driscoll. She married August E. Girsch on Aug. 19, 1946, in Waterloo. He died June 29, 2007.

Mrs. Girsch and her husband farmed in the Gilbertville area for many years. She was active at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Rosary Society, the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Farm Bureau Homemakers.

Survived by three sons, David (Cathy) and Jim (Peggy), both of Waterloo, and Larry (Julie) of Gilbertville; a daughter, Rosie (Steve) Weber of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Dennis Girsch of Overland Park, Kan., Stacy (Mark) McMahon of Raymond, Dana (Jason) Beebe of Winterset, Kindra Weber of Waterloo, Betsy (Tim) Morrison of Waverly, and Brenda Girsch, Joseph Girsch and Michael Girsch, all of Gilbertville; six great-grandchildren, Kailey, Kinsey, Kaeler, Trevor, Myles and Ty; four sisters, Lynn (Wayne) Fox of Waterloo, Miriam (Earl) Steimel of Eagle Center, Gert Hogan of Washburn and Sherry (Bill) Kohl of Marion; and two brothers, Dwayne (Jan) Driscoll of Waterloo and Mike (Barb) Driscoll of Washburn.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Annamae Girsch; two sisters, Arlene Steimel and Donna Condon; a brother, Vincent "Bud" Driscoll; three brothers-in-law, Bob Steimel, Jim Condon and Chuck Hogan; and two sisters-in-law, Glady Driscoll and Connie Driscoll.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo, where there will be a 4 p.m. Catholic Order of Foresters rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Bosco System.
