Funeral services for Carl W. Storey, 71, of 129 Woodlawn Ed. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church with the Revs. David Moore and Richard Haug officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Charter Oak Cemetery. Mr. Storey died at his home at noon Wednesday.

He was born Nov. 23, 1901, in Webster City to Herman and Martha Jacobsen Storey. He married Ethel Thompson Dec. 19, 1924, in Waterloo.

Mr. Storey worked for the Illinois Central railroad for 53½ years until he retired in 1968, He served as assistant chief dispatcher for the company. His family has served for a combined total of 209 years with the Illinois Central. Mr. Storey belonged to the Train Dispatchers Association.

He is survived by his wife of Parkview Gardens Care Center, a daughter, Mrs. Avis Woodward of Cincinnati, Ohio; son, Carl Storey Jr. of Homewood, Ill.; sisters, Mrs. Bertha Counsell of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Agnes Halgren of Woodbine; brothers, John Storey, and O. C. Storey, both of Palo Also, Calif., Herman M. Storey of Grundy Center; ten grandchildren.

Mr. Storey was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Chapel of Memories West.
