TRAER – Vivian Arlene Clausen, 74, of Traer, formerly of Evansdale, died Monday, March 3, 2014, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, of esophageal cancer.

She was born Dec. 3, 1939, in Mason City, daughter of Olaf and Vera Morse. She married Joseph Huegel and they later divorced. She married Robert Clausen on June 20, 1992.

A 1958 graduate of Rockwell-Swaledale High School, Vivian was a homemaker for many years. She also operated and managed a number of convenience stores in the Waterloo area.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Sheri Lund of Urbandale; two sons, Jeff (Luci) Huegel of Marion and Tony (Debra) Huegel of Bettendorf; eight grandchildren, Brittney, Nickolas, Emily (Jack), Ashlyn, Alicia, Jacob, Gage and Brianna; a sister, Harriett McVicker of Independence, Mo.; a brother, William (Cheryl) Morse of McKinney, Texas; and her in-laws.

Preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Harry, Robert, Russell, Claude, Richard and Ronald Morse; and son-in-law, Jon Lund.

Memorial services: 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Peace United Church of Christ, 201 W Johnston St., Gladbrook, preceded by visitation from 4 to 6 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or organization of donor's choice.

Vivian's greatest joys have been spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Many great memories were created during family times at her home.
