Corrine Rae Huisman, 72, of Parkersburg, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at Waverly Health Care Center, Waverly, from complications of cancer.

She was born June 18, 1933, in Waterloo, daughter of Ward and Emma Jurgensen Cole. She married Don L. Huisman on June 18, 1951, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Parkersburg.

Mrs. Huisman worked in various nursing homes for about 10 years and worked for the city of Parkersburg for 10 years, reading water meters. She also answered the radio dispatcher out of their home for many years when her husband was a police officer for Parkersburg.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Rick R. of Albion; two daughters, Elaine (Gary) Froiland of Stewartville, Minn., and Shelley (Martin) Teig of Ozark, Mo.; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson; and two brothers, Don (Judy) Cole of Waterloo and Dick (Jan) Cole of Bradenton, Fla.

Preceded in death by a son, Floyd R.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hope Reformed Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
