CEDAR FALLS -- Keith Spencer Minard, 87, of Sheridan, Wyo., formerly of Spirit Lake and Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Feb. 23, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Alta, son of Leland and Ethelyn Minard. He married Mary Lou Palmer in 1949; she preceded him in death.

After high school Keith was in the Naval ROTC program and attended DePauw University, Montana School of Mines, University of California at Berkley, and graduated with a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Iowa State University. He worked for Oliver Corp., Charles City, and in 1964 went to work for Deere and Co., Moline, Ill., retiring in 1989 as manager of Worldwide Agricultural Tractor Engineering in Waterloo.

Survived by a son, Phil (Sue) of Lenexa, Kan.; two daughters, Michele (John) Muecke of Sheridan and Jill (Fadi) Harake of Huntington Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Terry.

Memorial service will take place in Spirit Lake in late June.

After retirement, Keith and Mary Lou moved to Spirit Lake. He loved fishing from his dock or in his boat, hunting and golfing.
