Word has been received by relatives in Waterloo of the death of Fred Pierce, 85, Sunday evening in Madrid, of complications incident to advanced age.

He was a former resident of Waterloo and moved from this city in the early 1930s

Among the survivors are a daughter, Mrs. C. A. Bixby of 1303 Maynard Ave., and one son, Dale of 1234 Stratford Ave.
Funeral services are pending at Madrid,
