SHERK, GREENLEY, TUMAN, EBERLY, CORBET

Elmen N. Sherk, 76, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at his home on Rainbow Drive, of complications incident to old age.

Born Dec. 5, 1864, at Sherkston, Ont.. he went with his family at the age of 8 to Maquoketa, Iowa. He came to Waterloo in 1885, and was married May 16, 1890, to Miss Nettie Greenley here.

For 30 years he was a partner of C. A. Stoy in the building contracting business. Later he was a millwright. He had been retired in recent years.

Surviving, besides the widow are a son, Floyd R. Sherk, Rainbow Drive; a grandson, George Sherk, Houston, Tex.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Glen Tuman, 604 Kirkwood Avenue, and two great-grandchildren, Gary Lee and Sonja Tuman, and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Eberly of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. N. A. Corbet of Kimball, Neb.

Sherk was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the home, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The body was taken to the Kistner Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Elmen N. Sherk, who died Saturday at his home on Rainbow Drive, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sherk home by Rev. A. P, Blough. pastor of the Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

The body will be taken to the family home from Kistner's Funeral Home at 4 p. m. Monday. Friends may view the body at the family home.

His parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Casket bearers will be C. E. Brinkerhoff, Mike Blitsch, T. C. Keene, William Benson, H. E. Hoff and W. E. Shaulis.
