WATERLOO - John E. Saul, 77, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital of cardiac arrest.

He was born March 29, 1936, in Waterloo, son of Earl and Cecelia DeJaeger Saul. He married Judy Fenders in May 1958 and they later divorced. He married JoAnn Miller in 1985.

John worked at Titus Manufacturing for 14 years, for the DOT, and at John Deere for 22 years, retiring in 1999.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Larry of Waterloo and Ron of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Kathy Krieger of Waterloo; two stepsons, Kevin Knief of Greeley, Colo., and Terry Knief of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Luella Green of New Hartford; a sister-in-law, Millie Saul of Parkersburg; and two brothers, his twin Jim of New Hartford, and Roy of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leo and Francis; and two sisters, Geraldine Ackerson and an infant.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, New Hartford. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with an Eagle's memorial service at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

John will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
