MRS. AGNES PEARL WOOD

Mrs. Agnes Pearl Wood, 67 of 27½ 5th St., died at St. Francis Hospital at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday of a heart attack. She was the widow of the late Thomas H. Wood, retired captain of detectives with the Waterloo police department.

She was born Agnes Pearl Melendy on Nov. 8, 1900 in Waterloo, the daughter of Louis and Emma Gimger Melendy. She was a lifetime resident of Waterloo. She attended the Waterloo schools and was married on April 25, 1935, in Minneapolis to Thomas H. Wood. He had served as a member of the Waterloo police department from Aug. 19, 1934, until Dec. 16, 1959, when he retired.

Mrs. Wood is survived by one brother, Myron Melendy of 132 Greenwood Ave.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband.

Funeral services are pending at the O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home, where friends may call after noon Thursday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Wood, 67, of 27½ E. 5th St. will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home with the Rev. Leo G. Potter, pastor of Central Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
