Mrs. Ruth B. Dean, 72, of 111 Poplar St., was dead on arrival at Allen Memorial Hospital at 9 p.m. Thursday of a heart attack.

She was born near Iowa Falls on March 7, 1894, the daughter of Harry and Alta Wiltze Barr. She was married to and divorced from H. O. Arthur. On April 10, 1943, in Minneapolis, she was married to Richard E. Dean. Mrs. Dean was an insurance saleswoman for many years.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Marion Petrie, 111 Poplar St., and her stepdaughter, Mrs. Tony Jochumsen, 115 Poplar St.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter and one sister.

Services are pending at the Locke funeral home where friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday.
