Frances Ann “Fritzie” Versluis Meier, 67, of Janesville, died at home Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, from complications of cancer.

She was born May 28, 1946, in Waterloo, daughter of Emil Joseph and Madeleine Marie Waerenborg Versluris. On May 27, 1967, she married Dennis Meier at Hope Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, and they later divorced.

Frances graduated in 1965 from Jesup High School, Jesup, and then worked for Collins Radio, Cedar Rapids. After moving to Colorado she worked at The King Ranch in Grand Lake and also at a restaurant/deli and Inside Edge Sports in Steamboat Springs. After moving to Arizona she worked for ABCO Bakery and Deli, and TRW Co. She returned to Iowa and worked for Kwik Star in Janesville from 2005 until 2009.

Survived by her partner, Roger Koob of Janesville; two sons, Wade of Cortez, Colo., and Travis (Patti) of Mesa, Ariz.; two grandchildren; three brothers, Robert “Bob” (Mavis “Babe”) Versluis of Waterloo, Ronald “Ron” (Nancy) Versluis of Cedar Falls and James “Jim” Versulis of Mesa; and four sisters, Helen Fernau of Raymond, and Jean Welch, Jane (Ronald “Ron”) Lickiss and Audrie Hahn, all of Oelwein.

Preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Thomas “Tom” Versulis; and a sister, Grace Fernau.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, with burial in Finchford Cemetery, Janesville. Visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday and an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
