WATERLOO - Amil "Rudy" Rudolph, 97, of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 4, 1910, in North Platte, Neb., son of Adolph and Maude Cooley Rudolph. He married Maxine Shannon on Sept. 28, 1940, in Waterloo.

Mr. Rudolph was employed with John Deere Product Engineering Center for 37 years. Following his retirement he was a tour guide with John Deere for 10 years. He was a long time member and past president of the Waterloo Eagles Club and enjoyed woodworking and watching ball games.

Survived by his wife; a son, Cliff (Nancy) of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Shannon (Kurt) Rudolph Umthum; a great-grandson, Landon Bradley Umthum; a sister, Ruth Johnson of Fresno, Calif.; a brother, Ed of Fresno; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by four sisters, Maude in infancy, Nellie Casteel, Grace Rivers and Anna Gurnett; and two brothers, Ernie and Robert.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also at the church for an hour before services on Wednesday.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
