WATERLOO - Michael R. Derbyshire, 54, of Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, April 1, 2008.

He was born April 29, 1953, in Waterloo, son of Morris and Helen Avery Derbyshire. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and was employed as a sandblaster for Sampson Fabrication.

Survived by a daughter, Shalynn Boike of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; a brother, Richard of California; and two sisters, Teresa and Cherie Derbyshire, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gary Lee.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with full military rites conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Public visitation for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date.
