WATERLOO - Patricia Ann Hennings, 66, of Waterloo, died at home Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, of natural causes.

She was born March 3, 1947, in Waterloo, daughter of John David and Betty Lou Waite Burch. On Oct. 6, 1972, she married Allen Robert Hennings at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Denver.

She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1965 and earned a master's degree in nursing from Allen College of Nursing. Mrs. Hennings was the head nurse at Allen Memorial Hospital ICU for many years, retiring in 2012. Following retirement, she returned to nursing, teaching part time at Allen College. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Denver.

Survived by her husband; a son, Robert “R.J.” (Kathy) of Tripoli; a stepdaughter, Dawn (Jeff) Riley of Denver; a stepson, Tadd (Lisa) Hennings of Denver; six grandchildren; her mother of Waterloo; a sister, Becky McChane of Waterloo; and two brothers, Craig (Cindy) Burch of Port Charlotte, Fla., and James (Liz) Burch of Dewitt.

Preceded in death by her father.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Denver, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation Thursday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Denver, with family present from 4 to 7 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
