EVANSDALE - Larry John Bovy, 59, of Evansdale, died at home Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014.

He was born June 12, 1954, son of Peter W. and Bernice A. Fischels Bovy. He married Constance “Connie” Even on July 9, 1977, in Gilbertville.

Mr. Bovy was a machinist for 30 years at John Deere Tractor Mfg. Co., retiring in 2004. He then worked part time as a tour guide for John Deere.

Survived by his wife; a son, Travis (Dorthea) of Jesup; a daughter, Tiffany (Adam) Shepard of Evansdale; five grandchildren, Skyler and Lexis Shepard, and Hanna, Allison and Ethan Bovy; three brothers, Bob (Kathy) of Verona, Wis., Don of Eagle Center and LaVerne (Sue) of Waterloo; and two sisters, Barbara (Dick) Siems of San Diego and Rose (Burt) Turner of Denver, Colo.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 4 p.m. rosary. Visitation also an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Bosco System or Cedar Valley Hospice.
