Gladys D. Harris, 92, of 921 Sixth Ave. died Friday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital from complications following surgery. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Westover Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Harris was born in Newton and lived in Des Moines 60 years. She was a retired clerical worker for the Iowa Employment Securities Commission and a member of the Newton Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Hart of Cedar Falls; a step-daughter, Beverly Barber of Ankeny; four step-grandchildren; and six-step-great-grandchildren.

The Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Sat 19 Apr 1997.
