WATERLOO - Clarence Eugene Main, 87, of Waterloo, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born Feb. 26, 1926, in La Porte City, son of James L. and Lea Christopher Main. He married Darlene D. Easton on Jan. 9, 1948, in Waterloo; she preceded him in death on March 11, 1994.

He retired from Challenge Dairy, working as a milk man for 50 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survived by his fiancee, Ronda Fecht of Waterloo; two sons, Michael (Michelle) of San Diego and Anthony (Hope) of Mena, Ariz.; a daughter, Cathy (Greg) Smith of Yucca Valley, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Junior (Tammy) and Mike (Amy) Fecht; two stepdaughters, Kim and Kris Fecht; nine stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren, all of Waterloo; four sisters, Myrtle Hare, Earlene Phelps, Evelyn Lang Carol Brown; and a sister-in-law, Pat Easton, all of Iowa.

Preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Earl Rundell; a daughter, Debra McMahan; two brothers, Roy and Clyde; and a sister, Lois Weddle.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, with military honors conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138, VFW Post 1623 and Iowa National Guard Honors Detail. Burial will be in West View Cemetery, La Porte City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and also for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
