WATERLOO - Edward Leon Heene, 67, of Council Grove, Kan., formerly of Waterloo, died Dec. 20, 2013, from complications of myelofibrosis.

He was born April 16, 1946, in Illinois, son of Charles and Mary Heene. He married Barbara Curtis in 1977. In 2008 he married Deborah Williams.

He graduated from Waterloo West High School, attended the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, then earned a degree from University of South Florida, Tampa. Mr. Heene worked as CFO of Galamba Industries, Kansas City, Mo., and Plattform Advertising, Olathe, Kan.

Survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Heene of Chillicothe, Mo., and Christina Heene of Overland Park, Kan.; two sons, Michael of Kansas City, Kan., and Nicholas of Raytown, Mo.; five grandchildren; and two brothers, William of Raytown and Chuck of Waterloo.

Celebration of Life service: 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Old Chicago, 11721 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, Kan.
