ANOTHER PIONEER CALLED

Conrad* Funk Answered Final summons Friday.

The death of Conrad Funk, which occurred Friday evening st the home of his son George in Bennington Township, marks the passing away of one of the most highly respected men of the township.

Mr. Funk had been ailing for some time from troubles incident to old age and a general breakdown was the cause of his demise.

The deceased was born in Hesae Darmstadt, Germany, 79 years ago and has been a resident of Bennington Township for the last thirty years. During his residence in the county he has owned several farms and he formed a large acquaintanceship with the people of this county. He was a mason by trade and assisted with the construction of many building erected in the earlier days in Blackhawk County.

Besides his wife, Mrs. Conrad Funk leaves four sons to mourn his death. They are John and George Funk of Benningtown Township and Conrad and Will Funk of Minnesota.

Hundreds of friends will grieve at the death of this man and deeply sympathize with the family in its bereavement.

The funeral will be conducted Sunday from the home of the son George in Bennington Township and burial will be at Denver**.
