WATERLOO - Mary L. Clayburn, 82, of 610 E. Fourth St., Apt. 53, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001 at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 22, 1918, in Alcoa, Miss., daughter of Simon and Louise Lumpkin. She married Paul Clayburn May 14, 1946, in Des Moines. He died in 1971.

Mrs. Clayburn was formerly employed with Dr. Waterbury.

Survived by four sons, Richard and Glen, both of Denver, Colo., Paul of Milwaukee and Kenneth of Chicago; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph of Chicago; and a sister, Doris Batts of Memphis, Tenn.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Paulette; and a brother, Clarence.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mark's Baptist Church, with burial in the Garden of Gethsemane section of Garden of Memories Cemetery. Chapel committal services will be in chapel mausoleum. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today and for an hour before services Monday, all at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 610 E. Fourth St., Apt. 53, where family members will be receiving friends.
