Bill Nielsen, 87, formerly of 1604 Michigan Drive, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at the Denver Sunset Home, Denver, of cancer.

He was born Sept. 2 , 1913, in Waterloo, son of Frank and Rachel E. Weinhold Kemp, and was adopted by Ben G. Nielsen. He married Dorothy E. Warneka on March 29, 1934, in Waterloo. She died Dec. 24, 1994. Mr. Nielsen was employed at John Deere Tractor Works for 38 years, retiring in 1974.

Survived by two sons, Caryl of Woodstock, Ga., and LeRoy of Denver; a daughter, Evelyn Pettit of Waterloo; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Willard of Omaha, Neb.

Preceded in death by a grandson; a great-granddaughter; and an infant brother, Caryl.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Open Bible, with burial in Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Friends may all fro 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
