WATERLOO - Elizabeth Rutter, 87, of Waterloo, died Thursday, April 28, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 24, 1917, in Bristow, daughter of William and Ella Lurson Mehmen. She married George Rutter on Dec. 11, 1933, in Dumont. He died Jan. 10, 1997.

Survivors include a son, LeRoy "Pete" (Joanne) of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mamie (Ken) Armstrong of Mesa, Ariz., and Ella Ramker of Greene; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou and Juanita Mehmen, both of Charles City.

Preceded in death by a son, Gerald; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; five brothers: Fred, John, Oakie, William and Carl; four sisters, Effie, Grace, Gertie and Caroline; and three brothers and sisters in infancy.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
