Fern Harbaugh, 82, of 901 Denver St., died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 21, 1917, in Waterloo, daughter of John H. and Eliza Miller Hoffman. She married Robert Harbaugh on Feb. 13, 1954, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Harbaugh worked in the office at John Deere for seven years and then worked at Alstadt and Langlas Baking Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1982.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Dr. Marilyn Lies of Waterloo; three sons, Donald of Cedar Falls, Douglas of Tucson, Ariz., and David of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Violet Smith of Cedar Falls and Susan Ohrt of Oelwein; and a brother, Robert Hoffman of Nashville.

Preceded in death by two brothers, John, and an infant.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Western Avenue Gospel Hall, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Locke Funeral Home.
