WATERLOO — Thomas T. Riley, 77. of 106 E. Third SL, died at home Wednesday. Dec. 20, 2000, of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Mount Auburn, son of Allen and Mary Tooey Riley. He married Doris Dawley July 14, 1946, in Nashua. They were later divorced.

Mr. Riley was a manager for Ben Franklin for 17 years until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater, where he was a prisoner of war in Germany.

Survived by three daughters, Linda Dawson of Waterloo, Robin Arnold of Cedar Falls and Kathy Jo Riley of California; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Josephine Gieger of Vinton.

Preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial infte Garden of Memories Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
