WATERLOO - Leroy E. "Pete" Truax, 58, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1995, after a brief illness.

He was born July 15, 1937, in Parkersburg, son of Willis and Tina Hovenga Truax. He married Linda Hemmen on June 7, 1974, in Mason City. Mr. Truax drove a truck for Donen Transportation.

Survived by his wife; a brother, Donovan of Parkersburg; four sisters, Evelyn Scharge, Maxine DeBoer and Linda Kannegieter, all of Parkersburg, and Glenda Miller of Allison.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at First Congregational Church, Parkersburg, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Bristow. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, where there will be a 6:30 p.m prayer service. Visitation also after noon Friday at the church.
