CEDAR FALLS — Kenneth J. Stedman, 55, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, at home of cancer.

He was born Jan. 23, 1943, in Sumner, son of Kenneth and Edna Albrecht Stedman. He married Sue E. Downey on Feb. 9, 1963, in Evansdale.

Mr. Stedman owned and operated The Other Place, which he opened on College Hill in 1974, and expanded to locations in Waverly, Clear Lake, Mason City, Evansdale and Overland Park, Kan. He also owned and operated Tally's Restaurant and Pepper's Grill and Sports Pub, both in Cedar Falls.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Joel of Miami Beach, Fla., and Troy of Overland Park; a granddaughter; his parents of Evansdale; a brother, Bob of Evansdale; and five sisters, Sandra Vogel of Cedar Falls, Annette Todden of Des Moines, Linda Schellhorn of Elk Run Heights, and Judy Granzow and Sheryl Rosauer, both of Evansdale.

Memorial services 2 p.m. Sunday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. There will be no visitation; his body was cremated. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Cedar Valley Hospice.
