Funeral arrangements are pending at the Locke Funeral Home for Charles C. Cunningham, 81, of Apartment 410 of Walnut Court Apartments, who died at Allen Memorial Hospital at 6:15 a.m. Sunday of a respiratory ailment.

He was born in Lafayette, Illinois Aug. 22, 1891, the son of John and Emma Snyder Cunningham; He married Jennie Wandell on March 3, 1911, at West Union.

Mr. Cunningham was a conductor on the Illinois Central Railroad, and retired on Sept 1, 1961. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and also of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Cunningham local of that organization was named for him.

Mr. Cunningham was a member of Waterloo Lodge No. 105 AF & AM; and of Tabernacle Chapter No. 52 R.A.M.; Crescent Council No. 16, RSM; and Ascalon Commandery no. 25 Knights Templar; and Waterloo Chapter 128 of the Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Gordon Gillette of Marion; and three brothers, James of Lafayette, Ill.; Layton of Van Nuys, Calif.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Friends who wish may give memorials to the heart fund or to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children. Friends may call at the Locke Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Monday.
