Funeral services for Mrs. Estella B. Kepford, 97, formerly of 1409 W. 4th St., who died Monday at the Cedar Falls Lutheran home of a stroke, are pending at Chapel of Memories West. Tentative plans call for services to be Thursday morning.

She was born Estella Brooks in Wright County June 10, 1873, one of eight children of John D. and Elizabeth Brooks. She taught in the schools of Wright County and on March 10, 1900, was married at Independence to Upton B. Kepford, Sr., who later was a Waterloo municipal court judge and attorney.

Mrs. Kepford was a former member of Order of Eastern Star, Waterloo Woman's Club Black Hawk County Garden club arid Daughters of the American Revolution.

Surviving are two sons, Upton B. Kepford, Jr., of 2521 W. 4th St., and Bryan L., of Denver, Colo., and one granddaughter, Mrs. Karen Russell, also of Denver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, seven brothers and sisters and an infant son.
